Why care plans matter

Your WordPress website needs regular care

WordPress is software, and software needs to be updated. Themes, plugins and WordPress itself can become outdated, unstable or vulnerable if ignored.

A care plan helps protect your website investment by keeping the important maintenance tasks happening in the background.

The common challenges

  • Old content can leave a poor impression
  • Outdated plugins can create security risks
  • Software updates can occasionally cause problems
  • Backups are often not reliable unless properly managed
  • Small website issues can go unnoticed until they become bigger problems

What’s included

What your care plan includes

Each plan includes a slightly different level of support, but the goal is the same: to keep your website safer, fresher and easier to recover if something goes wrong.

Software updates

I check for updates to WordPress, themes and plugins and apply them as needed, helping reduce security and compatibility risks.

Off-site backups

Daily off-site backups are stored away from your hosting, giving your site a more reliable recovery option if something goes wrong.

Security scanning

Regular malware scanning and security enhancements help reduce risk, although no website can ever be guaranteed hack-proof.

Uptime and SSL monitoring

Your website and SSL certificate are monitored so issues can be investigated before they cause bigger problems.

Content updates

Care plans include monthly content update time, useful for blog posts, image changes, banners, basic forms or small text updates.

Restoration and fixes

If your site is damaged, I can restore it from a backup and help with minor bug fixes or plugin issues.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide email support?

No. Email accounts and email support are best handled by an IT provider. I usually recommend Google Workspace or asking your IT support person to set up their recommended email provider.

Can’t I do WordPress updates myself?

You can, but updates are not always problem free. If I’m managing the updates and something goes wrong, I can fix the issue or roll the site back to a recent backup.

Why do I need off-site backups?

Hosting backups should not be your only recovery option. Off-site backups are stored separately from your hosting, which gives you an additional layer of protection.

Can you guarantee my site won’t be hacked?

No. No one can guarantee that. A care plan can reduce risk, monitor for problems and help with recovery, but online security threats are always changing.

Will you fix my site if it gets hacked?

I can restore your site to a clean backup and change the logins. If the site continues to be hacked, a specialist clean-up service may be required.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. One month’s written notice is required. If your plan includes hosting, you’ll need to arrange alternative hosting before the final month is up.

Good to know

What if you need more work than the plan includes?

If you need additional work beyond the included monthly content update time, it can be billed at my normal hourly rate.

For larger tasks, I’ll provide a quote or estimate before going ahead, so you know what to expect.

Want your WordPress website looked after?

If you’d like regular updates, backups, monitoring and practical WordPress support, I’d be happy to help you choose the right care plan.
